Back in 2007, we would drive all over to gather our weekly organic food. After picking up produce at a CSA in New Jersey, we’d journey on to Whole Foods, Wegmans, and Trader Joe’s. We often asked ourselves why there were no organic options closer to home.
In 2011, we became proud parents to a baby girl and named her Abigail. Our health and the health of our newborn became the ultimate priority, especially for a breastfeeding mama.
After selling our limousine business in 2012, we were presented with an opportunity to do something that would align with our values and lifestyle. Sure enough, through fate and a turn of events, we found a vacant spot at Carousel Village! We signed an agreement to occupy the space and turn it into an organic market. Our second baby, Gabriel, was so excited about the new store that he came into the world a few days later!
We tossed and turned about what to call the market until a very best friend of ours said, “Why don’t you call it Organnons? That’s ‘Organic’ and ‘Gannon’ rolled up into one!” It was genius!
On September 28, 2013, we cut the ribbon and opened the doors to our labor of love.
When we first dreamed up this market, our greatest hope was to create a space for like-minded people to shop and exchange views. When we look back on it today, we can hardly believe that our dream came true.
We now have 3 children and a beautiful family-run grocery store, staffed with 20+ of the most passionate people we know! We love our space and hope you do too.
